KIPP Corazón Academy

For the 2017-18 school year, KIPP Corazón Academy will accept interest forms during the interest period for students entering TK through 1st grade for the 2017-18 school year.  Should we receive more interest forms than spaces available for a grade level, the school will host a lottery.

*As of March 04, 2017, at 12:00 am, the lottery interest period will close. Any applications submitted after this point will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis, until all seats in the grade level are filled. After the seats in the grade level are filled, all students will be added to the waitlist.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION                                                                                                    KIPP Corazón Academy will be fully grown at TK through 8th grade (2021-22) and is accepting interest forms for TK-1st Grade for the 2017-18 school year. The exact location of the school is yet to be determined but will be in the Southeast area of Los Angeles.

Colleen is thrilled to be opening KIPP Corazón Academy in Southeast Los Angeles in the fall of 2017. Prior to the Fisher Fellowship, Colleen was a Dean at KIPP Comienza Community Prep in Southeast Los Angeles. Prior to becoming a dean, Colleen began teaching at KIPP Comienza in 2012, teaching Kindergarten and also serving as a founding teacher for second and fourth grades. Colleen received her M.S. Ed. in Urban Education at the University of Pennsylvania, and she double majored in Government and Psychology at the College of William and Mary. Outside of school, Colleen enjoys spending time with friends and family, running, reading, and exploring the scenery and sites of southern California. Colleen is excited to continue working to prove the possible with students and families in Southeast Los Angeles as she continues her work with KIPP Corazón in the coming years!
